What is sleep chronotype? You get the recommended 8 hours of sleep, but you still feel exhausted during certain parts of the day? Seep experts say that it all depends on your chronotype.
Dr. Michael Breus, an expert in the science of sleep, did some research by observing a group of his patients. At the end of his study, he was able to divide them into 4 sleeping types: bears, lions, wolves, and dolphins. He also found that fatigue and difficulty getting up in the morning are simply consequences of not following the daily schedule that’s best for your so-called chronotype!

SUMMARY:
– If most of your answers are A’s, your sleeping type is The Bear. It’s the most popular chronotype since 50-55% of all people in the world are bears. Even though they have a stable schedule that they rarely ignore, they still don’t feel like they get enough sleep.

why would I wake up at 7 am when I can choose to wake up whenever I want (which would be natural, no?) also, why 8 hours sleep? A REM phase is 90mins, so 7 1/2 or 9 hours would make sense. Did he just said 8 hours instead of 9 hours because people tend to not want to sleep that long due slavery?

1 – This test classified me as a lion ! Waking up at 11am makes me a lion ? really ?
2 – I visited the site of the writer of the book and took his test (that had COMPLETELY DIFFERENT questions) and classified me as a bear ! Not only being a bear suits me better in my opinion (even if it's not 100% accurate) but the negative reviews and feedbacks I saw on his site just made me think that all this story of chronotypes is COMPLETE BS !
3 – A small research of scientific articles in google scholar was done…Literally no scientific data about it !
Guys don't waste your time and CUT THE BS ! Your body will adapt to your schedule as long as you wake up/eat/ sleep at the same time everyday 😉

My best time awake is between Noon and 4AM. Because I have a son in school I get up at 7:45M. Even then I feel and think better VERY late at night, as in 11PM on. Only got insomnia after acquiring C-PTSD starting seriously around 8 years ago. Carbs are horrible for me ( which is why I am became a Carnivore)…rarely have naps unless sick or unusually physically overworked…

I'm finding there must be further subtypes or additional categories as several of the questions have no definite maxima to type my habit. As well knowing my own productivity patterns and lifestyle I'd say I have a small useful window from 2 to 3 then from 930 to 3am. I think the spirit animal for this hypothetical archetype would be a diurnal critcher that is hyper active during feeding times twice a day and defensive or retractive the rest of the day

My routine includes 2 children who don't care about my chronotype and wake up several times a night regardless of what we do lol
Interesting as started to go to be at 00:00 and wake up at 5:30 (as a LION). After some time my body started to wake up at 4:30 / 5:00 and was keeping energy for 1-2 hours then had to sleep for another 30 minutes and then till 2/3 PM, Meditation 30 min and continuing till 00:00… was still feeling drowsy. With from what i heard that I should go at 10PM to bed wonders me if it's not to early, what about 11, still 30 mins more from what I'm having 🙂
